What We Do

Parks and Recreation Ontario provides policy leadership that enables equitable access to quality recreation and park opportunities for all Ontarians.

PRO aims to enhance the quality of life for all Ontarians by positively influencing public policy at the local, provincial and federal levels. PRO works with members and stakeholders to strengthen our sector by positioning the benefits and importance of recreation and parks with decision makers. Through this work, PRO has gained a reputation as a trusted advisor and strategic partner with government.

To support advocacy efforts, PRO engages in research and policy development and works collaboratively with a diverse group of allied partners on a shared vision for a strong and vibrant park and recreation movement. Our members remain our greatest advocates and provide a strong voice for parks and recreation in Ontario.

PRO's goal is to provide members and stakeholders with vital information about government programs, funding, legislation, and regulation. Working with experts, PRO develops and delivers webinars and tools to keep the sector informed.
